Registration shouldn’t be the only time you ask
You’ve invited someone to an event. They’re interested. They’re ready to say yes.
Then comes the form.
Shirt size. Dietary requirements. Emergency contact. Accessibility accommodations. A waiver for an activity they haven’t even decided to join.
Each question may have a good reason behind it. But does every answer need to be collected at the same moment?
With Attend, you can collect information throughout the attendee experience. That gives you room to be more strategic about what you ask, when you ask it, and who needs to answer.
Let the activity trigger the waiver
A guest chooses an activity that requires a waiver. That’s a natural moment to ask them to complete it.
They know what they’re signing up for. The request has context. And the people who aren’t doing that activity don’t have to work through paperwork that doesn’t apply to them.
Attend supports collecting that waiver as part of joining the activity. You can connect the request to the decision that makes it relevant.
Apply that thinking across your event: what has the guest just chosen, and what do you need from them next?
Ask for a shirt size when there’s a shirt to talk about
A size field in a registration form feels like admin.
“We’re making something for you. Choose your size by Friday” feels like part of the experience.
If your merchandise order isn’t due for another month, you can make that request closer to the deadline. Explain what’s being made, share a size guide, and give guests a clear reason to respond.
You get the information in time to use it. Your guest understands why you’re asking.
Give important questions the timing they deserve
Dietary requirements, accessibility accommodations, and emergency contacts can be collected whenever you need them. Registration is one opportunity; there are others throughout the lead-up.
The right timing depends on what you need to arrange.
Dietary information should reach your catering team before they finalize meals. Accessibility requests may need an early conversation so you have time to make arrangements. Emergency contacts can be collected ahead of travel or an activity that requires them.
For accommodations in particular, make it easy for guests to raise a need from the beginning and return to it later. Someone may not know what to request until they see the venue, travel plans, or detailed schedule.
Collecting information over time also gives guests room to update an answer when their circumstances change.
Work backward from the moment you need the answer
For each question, decide:
- Who actually needs to answer it?
- What decision or arrangement depends on the response?
- When do you need it, including time to follow up?
- What context will help the guest answer accurately?
That gives you a collection plan tied to how the event is being organized.
Some questions will belong in registration. Others will belong with an activity reservation, a merchandise reveal, or a pre-departure request.
Each one should arrive with a clear purpose and enough time for you to act.
Keep the conversation going
When your event app is part of registration, you already have a place to bring guests back. As plans develop, you can ask for the next piece of information within the experience they’re already using.
You don’t have to anticipate every question in the first form.
Let guests say yes. Then ask the right people the right questions as their experience takes shape.
Build a more thoughtful attendee journey with Attend.
